Support for UK students to study the Government Studies MA

There are a limited number of full and half fee studentships for 2026-2027 to support students from underrepresented groups to progress to postgraduate study on the MA Government Studies programme.

There are a limited number of full and half fee studentships (covering the element of the fee beyond that available through student loan) for 2026-27 to support students from underrepresented groups and those without the means to afford the programme to progress to postgraduate study on the MA Government Studies programme.

Award details

The deadline for submissions is 29 May 2026. Interviews will take place in the week commencing 1 June, with final decisions being sent to students on 6 June. The successful candidates will then be invited to apply for the MA in Government Studies.

Application process

  • Submission of a 500-word personal statement which should demonstrate financial need and the impact receiving this bursary will have on them/their career and interest in British government and politics.

  • Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to interview, which will be conducted by a panel convened by the Policy Institute.
