The Barry Berkovitz and Moya Meredith Smith Trophy Prize was awarded to the BDS1 student with the highest combined tooth identification test score along with their waxing test score for the year. This year Samuel Tan Yien has won the trophy.

The tooth morphology course gives the students the knowledge to identify both permanent and deciduous teeth and roots through lectures and workshops. In addition, students learn how to carve and wax up teeth, providing them with key transferable skills which will be used on clinic throughout their career. The combination of these elements provided 2 prize winners.

Executive Dean Professor Mike Curtis, Dean for Education Professor Kim Piper were joined by Dr Barry Berkovitz to award the trophy prize, certificate and £50 to the 1st prize winner Samuel Tan Yien.
