Turkish academic wins Newton Advanced Fellowship hosted by DID

Dr Volkan Yžlmaz has been awarded a Newton Advanced Fellowship by the British Academy, and will be hosted by the Department of International Development where he will work with Professor Susan Fairley Murray.

Dr Volkan Yžlmaz has been awarded a Newton Advanced Fellowship by the British Academy. He will be hosted by the Department of International Development at King’s where he will work with Professor Susan Fairley Murray.

Volkan will conduct new research examining the regulatory challenges in pluralistic healthcare systems through the case of Turkey. Volkan Yžlmaz is an Assistant Professor of Social Policy and the Director of Social Policy Forum Research Centre at Bogazici University, Istanbul. His latest book, The Politics of Health Care Reform in Turkey, was published in 2017 by Palgrave Macmillan.
