The award scheme will be piloted in India, a key target country identified in the Government’s International Education Strategy, to increase representation of PGT students domiciled there, at King’s.

The programme is envisioned as a global scheme that will attract the brightest minds from all over the world, starting with India, as part of the targeted work King’s is undertaking to advance world-leading education and serve the needs of society, delivering tangible impact locally, nationally and globally.

The Vice-Chancellor is pleased to offer up to 30 awards, each of £10,000 in the form of a fee reduction, to Indian-domiciled students starting postgraduate study in September 2024 in the faculties of Life Sciences & Medicine (FoLSM); Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Science (NMES); Social Sciences and Public Policy (SSPP); The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN); King’s Business School (KBS) and The Dickson Poon School of Law (DPSoL). These faculties have been identified as highly popular with PGT students domiciled in India.

I’m delighted that King’s has launched the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards. Attracting the brightest minds from India and indeed all over the world, is part of our mission to make the world a better place. I left India myself to pursue post-graduate studies, so I’m pleased that King’s can offer the same opportunity to others.

The Vice-Chancellor & President of King’s College London, Professor Shitij Kapur further added: "Having a diverse student population mix, made up of home and international students contributes to the thriving community at King’s, and supports diversity of thought and the coming together of those with differing lived experiences."
