Title of PhD: The use of point-of-care ultrasound to guide fluid management
The use of intravenous fluids is one of the most common medical interventions in hospitalised patients. Whilst research mainly focussing on the administration of fluid during the resuscitation and optimisation phase continues to expand, management strategies to detect fluid overload and fluid removal are still sparse. My projects will focus on the use of simple, bedside, ultrasound-based techniques to help guide clinicians fluid management strategies to improve patient outcomes.
