Biography
Dr Ahmad Al Jafari is a Senior Clinical Teacher and Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry at King’s College London since February 2024. In his current post, he contributes to teaching, research supervision, and clinical supervision of students in the Paediatric Dentistry DClinDent Programme. He is also the module lead for year one of the programme, and a faculty personal tutor. Dr Al Jafari obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Jordan in 2008. Following graduation, he worked briefly in private practice and then joined the University of Jordan as a teaching assistant. Realising his interest in teaching and research, especially in the field of Paediatric Dentistry, he travelled to the United Kingdom where he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS) and completed an MSc and PhD in Paediatric Dentistry from King's College London. His postgraduate education included training to become a Paediatric Dentistry Specialist. In his postgraduate research he explored approaches to caries prevention in children undergoing treatment under general anaesthesia. Dr Al Jafari has worked as Consultant at Jordan University Hospital and Assistant/Associate Professor of Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Jordan for eight years. During his tenure, he was involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical training, and research. He gained further experience in providing support to students by serving as Assistant Dean for almost four years. |
