School Programmes Manager (Postgraduate)

Biography

As the School Programmes Manager (Postgraduate) for the Departments of Geography, International Development and Global Health & Social Medicine, Alex supports his teams in ensuring key activities are completed in accordance with university timeframes and policies.

He works flexibly as part of the team, supporting others in times of high-volume activity. He also ensures that quality assurance requirements and (where required) accreditations requirements are met for all courses, and assists academics in using the Online Programme and Module Approval (OPAMA)/curriculum management system. He also supports School-wide educational resources, such as KEATS and the Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) systems.

Alex is responsible for:

  • managing the team (eg induction, performance-monitoring, leave records and training)
  • supporting his team with procedural advice, harmonisation of systems and processes
  • covering activities as and when required working on School projects including; technology-enhanced learning (TEL) systems, GTA recruitment and curriculum management attending departmental education committees for relevant cohort.
