Biography
Alex Marques is a Brazilian Maxillofacial Surgeon with over 17 year’s experience in implant dentistry and in the treatment of facial deformities. His research relates to the development of novel biomaterials to restore function and aesthetics of large bone defects in traumatised or diseased tissue using innovative analogue materials.
With his clinical expertise in atrophied and partially resected jaws, Alex focuses on biomaterials for clinical applications in regenerative medicine.
He is currently Member of European Association for Osseointegration and Member of International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
His present research project is the design of a biomimetic and bio-instructive composite biomaterial for the repair of maxillofacial defects.
