Amira Mills joined King’s College London Language Centre in 2014. She is the Programme Director for the Tailor-Made Programme, overseeing provision for the Law School, the Classics Summer School, and Scholarly Projects for the Medical School. She also serves as Team Leader for Arabic, Lecturer in Arabic Language Education, and Senior Tutor of the King’s Language Centre. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

She holds a BA in Arabic and French Literature and an MA in Linguistics and Phonetics from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt.

She speaks Arabic, English, and French.

Amira has extensive experience in designing and delivering Arabic language courses at UK universities. At King’s, she leads the Arabic teaching team, manages curriculum development, and oversees a wide range of courses offered by the Language Centre across different faculties and programmes.

Her professional interests include the creation of inclusive learning environments that support students at all levels. As an External Examiner at several UK universities, she contributes to the academic development and quality assurance of Arabic language programmes.

Amira’s commitment to innovative teaching and inclusive pedagogy has earned her multiple nominations for learning and teaching awards. She has also contributed to the Decolonising the Curriculum project, enhancing the cultural inclusivity and relevance of the Arabic language curriculum.
