Biography

Dr Andrew J. Lawrence is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Psychological Medicine. He holds both an undergraduate degree and a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge. His research centres on developing and applying MRI-based measures to better understand and predict mental health outcomes, with a particular focus on major depressive disorder, first-episode psychosis, and postpartum psychosis. He is especially interested in how large longitudinal cohorts can be used to explore how neurodevelopment interacts with other risk and resilience factors linked to the emergence of mental health difficulties during adolescence. He first joined KCL in 2017.
