Biography

Dr Anna Roach completed her BSc in Psychology in Education at the University of York before completing an MSc in Genes, Environment and Development in Psychology and Psychiatry at King's College London, followed by her PhD in Psychology at Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, UCL.

Anna's PhD research developed and implemented mental health drop-in services at paediatric hospitals across England, providing access to evidence-based psychological support for children with physical health conditions, and their families. She previously worked in paediatric palliative care research at the Cicely Saunders Institute from 2018-2020, before taking up a mental health research role at East London NHS Foundation Trust, and then working on national quality improvement programmes at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Alongside this, she has had teaching roles on the Child and Adolescent Mental Health MSc programme at UCL and led the Multiple Perspectives to Developmental Psychopathology module at the Anna Freud Centre, UCL.

Anna is interested in research supporting families of children with serious illness and increasing access to mental health support.
