Anna Walder works in general adult psychiatry at South London and The Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and recently completed an MSc in International Health at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin where she explored the use of music as a psychosocial support for refugee communities in Greece.
Anna first became interested in global health in medical school, building on this with placements in South Africa and Tanzania. In 2015, she took time out of medicine to volunteer as a Mental Health Coordinator for King's Global Health Partnerships in Sierra Leone for a year, then remained in country working as a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) consultant for USAID and WHO. After this, she moved to South Africa, where she worked in neuropsychiatry, before returning to Europe to volunteer providing psychosocial support in Greece during the ongoing refugee crisis.
