Biography
Dr Arshdeep Singh is a research fellow in Generative Audio AI in the Department of Informatics, King’s College London. He is funded by the UK AI Hub in Generative models. He is a co-lead for Gen AI Hub project “Sustainability and Efficiency of Multi-modal Generative AI models”. He is also a visiting researcher at the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), and a Sustainability Fellow at the Institute for Sustainability, University of Surrey.
His research covers audio signal processing, machine learning, AI, compression of AI models, sustainable AI, privacy in audio AI, audio generation, multimodal AI, and condition monitoring of industrial machines.
Dr Singh received his MEeng degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India with a Gold Medal. He received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi, India in 2022. From Oct 2021- Oct 2025, he was a research fellow in CVSSP, University of Surrey. At CVSSP, Arshdeep worked on an EPSRC-funded AI for sound project. Arshdeep obtained an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education (AFHEA) in 2025. In 2023, he was selected as an early career acoustic champion for AI within the EPSRC-funded UK acoustic network, UKAN+.
