Biography
After graduating from King’s College London, I began my career at a boutique investment bank in London, focusing on cross-border M&A deals between China and Europe. Shortly afterwards, I relocated to China, joined my current company, and transitioned into the commercial real estate sector. I now advise Chinese clients on global real estate acquisitions and asset disposals, working on high-profile transactions involving landmark properties in major gateway cities such as London.
While the industry shift from M&A to real estate might seem significant, both roles share a common thread: cross-border investment. My academic and professional experience in London equipped me with a global perspective and the ability to adapt quickly—especially in a city as dynamic as London.
My work involves daily communication with clients, colleagues, and business partners from diverse countries and cultures, offering constant exposure to new markets and deal practices. I’m fortunate to be at the forefront of many significant transactions, often collaborating with well-known corporations, institutions, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) or family offices. This experience has sharpened my commercial acumen and broadened my worldview.
Outside of work, I founded CREGlobal, a digital platform dedicated to sharing the latest insights on the global real estate market. Through social media channels such as WeChat, LinkedIn, and leading financial news websites, my team and I reach thousands of readers daily. The platform has grown into a key opinion leader (KOL) in the overseas property space and serves as a professional hub where experts and enthusiasts connect, exchange ideas, and inspire one another.
Reflecting on my time at King’s, I realise that what shaped me most wasn’t just what I learned in lectures—but how I lived in the city. I loved walking through different neighbourhoods, gaining a first-hand understanding of London’s layout. This turned out to be an unexpected advantage when I joined Cushman & Wakefield and began advising clients on overseas investments. My local knowledge helped me quickly connect with the work and gain recognition from my team.
I was once asked at a King’s event how my time at the University helped with my career. I gave the same answer as above. While the academic knowledge I gained at King’s certainly helped me understand financial statements, valuation models, and the wider economic environment, it was my everyday experience of living in London that truly helped me stand out at work. It’s not always about directly applying what you studied—it’s about how you learn, how you adapt, and how life outside the classroom shapes who you become.
