Biography
Dr Briony Anderson is a Lecturer in Criminology (Education) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King's College London.
She joined King's in 2026 and contributes to the BSc om Psychology and Criminology programme, leading second-year modules 'Addressing Criminological Problems' and 'Crime and Social Context'. Briony is also the point of contact for students interested in Study Abroad, Placements and Internships on the BSc Psychology and Criminology programme.
Briony is a digital criminologist, specialising in research on gender-based digital violence, privacy abuse, and technology-facilitated harms. She has expertise in feminist qualitative interviews and social media methodologies, and is interested in critical and post-humanist explanations of harm and technology relations. Briony also serves as an ethics review panel member for the London Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime.
Prior to her appointment at King's, Briony has taught across criminology and sociology programmes at Durham University, the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. She received her PhD in Criminology from the University of Melbourne.
