Biography

Before joining King’s, Burcu graduated with a BSc in Psychology as a first-ranked student in the faculty at Istanbul Commerce University and obtained a master’s degree in Applied Psychology with distinction at the same institution with a thesis titled “Strength of concentration and visual memory of 9-10 aged children educated in music”. After working as a child and developmental psychologist for three years, she has been awarded funding from the Republic of Turkey to continue her higher education in the UK. Then, she completed an MSc degree in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of York. Her project was mostly based on vision science, fMRI data and python programming, and it resulted in a research paper titled “A data‐driven approach to stimulus selection reveals an image‐based representation of objects in high‐level visual areas”.
