Catherine Le Texier

Lecturer in Italian Language Education

Biography

Catherine Le Texier joined King’s College London Language Centre in 2005. She completed a BA in English, Literature and Civilisation at Université de Rennes 2, France (1998) and obtained her CELTA at International House, London (2016). She speaks French, English, and Spanish.

Appointed Deputy Team Leader for French in 2016, Catherine oversees the provision of Language Modules as well as the Ab initio programme in collaboration with the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. As a lecturer, she has taught across a wide range of programmes and levels, including general French and Business French. Her teaching approach places a strong emphasis on collaborative learning and student engagement.

Catherine is also committed to widening participation and promoting social mobility. As Outreach Lead for several years, she worked with schools across London to support language learning and encourage progression to university-level study. In this role, she organised campus workshops for school groups and coordinated school visits to deliver talks and taster sessions.
