Medical Oncologist – Visiting Lecturer

Biography

Dr Chara Stavraka is a  Medical Oncologist and physician-scientist holding a Visiting Lecturer appointment at Kings College London, whilst leading the early clinical development of novel oncology drugs at AstraZeneca. 

Chara  completed higher specialist training in Medical Oncology through a competitive NIHR Clinical Lectureship at King's College London and Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Trust. She holds a PhD in RNA Cancer Biology and an MRes in Translational Medicine from Imperial College and has conducted post-doctoral research on novel IgE cancer therapeutics at King’s College London in Professor Karagiannis' lab. Her research experience spans basic, translational, and clinical cancer research.

Chara has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, including in Nature Medicine and Nature Communications, and is a recipient of the prestigious AACR Scholar-in-Training Award. She has served as a reviewer for several international Oncology journals and is an Associate Member of the Higher Education Academy.
