Biography

Dr Chara Stavraka is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow at King's College London and a Specialist Registrar in Medical Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust undertaking post-doctoral research on novel IgE immunotherapeutics in the lab of Prof Karagiannis. She graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2009 and continued her postgraduate studies at Imperial College London, being awarded an MRes in Translational Medicine and a competitive CRUK-funded PhD in Cancer Biology investigating the role of post-transcriptional regulation in cisplatin resistant ovarian cancer. Chara has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers and presented numerous abstracts at highly esteemed international Oncology meetings obtaining the AACR scholar-in-training award in 2016. She is an associate member of the Higher Education Academy with keen involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the clinical and academic setting.
