Biography

Dr Charlotte Cutler is a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the Drug Control Centre, which is located in the Department of Analytical, Environmental & Forensic Sciences.

Charlotte has over 10 years experience as an anti-doping scientist, working in animal sports drug testing before joining the Drug Control Centre in 2026. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences and her thesis was based on in vitro and in vivo models to compare metabolism of online ‘supplement’ products, to improve detection of these novel compounds in both human and equine doping control analyses. 

Charlotte has carried out and led research projects pertaining to anti-doping science and drug metabolism, working with the major anti-doping matrices; specifically urine, plasma and hair, with recent interest in dried blood spots.
