
Biography
Charlotte joined King's College London in August 2024 as the Digital Futures Institute Manager. In November 2025, she became the Head of Business Operations within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
Charlotte has worked in Higher Education since 2009 in a range of roles including operational management, programme leadership, and project management. Prior to joining King's, Charlotte spent a significant part of her career at the Open University, most recently as Senior Manager for Qualifications overseeing Undergraduate and Apprentice Social Work programmes.
Charlotte holds an honours degree in Business Management with a specialism in Leadership Practice from the Open University, and is a qualified swimming teacher and coach.
As Head of Business Operations, Charlotte works closely with the Executive Dean, Director of Operations and Vice Dean People and Planning, providing strategic, operational, and inclusive leadership across the Faculty. She works in close partnership with the Faculty's senior professional services leadership team to ensure that academic and business priorities are effectively supported by excellent professional services provision. This covers a range of operational duties including:
- Leading key business operations functions across the Faculty including HR, finance, business continuity, compliance, health & safety, and space management
- Overseeing the Faculty's central finances and staffing, working with the Management Accounts team to allocate budgets in line with the university's integrated planning process
- Establishing standard processes and professional standards across the Faculty, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and obligations
- Team leadership and matrix management of business operations-aligned staff, supporting induction, training, and personal development
- Contributing to strategy development and acting as a Faculty representative at internal and external meetings
