Dr Chileshe Mabula-Bwalya

Biography

Dr. Chileshe Mabula-Bwalya is a research fellow at King’s College London, working on mixed methods studies to improve preeclampsia outcomes. She is currently undertaking a PhD investigating the feasibility of delivering blood biomarker point-of-care tests for pre-eclampsia prediction and prognostication in low and middle-income countries, supervised by Dr. Kate Bramham, Dr. Cristina Fernandez-Turienzo and Professor Andrew Shennan, with data collection from four sites in Zambia.

She was awarded the 2023 Zuspan Young Investigator Award by the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (ISSHP) in recognition of “outstanding clinical work in the study of hypertension in pregnancy” for her oral abstract 'Policy Lab as an engagement tool for improving pre-eclampsia management in a high-burden setting'. Her interests include building enthusiasm and skills in the conduct of clinical, and especially obstetric research.
