Christopher da Silva

Lecturer in French Language Education

Biography

Christopher da Silva joined King’s College London Language Centre in 2025 as a Lecturer in French language education. He is a bilingual educator fluent in French and English, with a strong background in language acquisition and academic practice. Christopher previously held teaching positions at the University of Durham and the University of Essex.

He earned a BA in Modern Languages (English as a Second Language, 2009) and an MA in Second Language Acquisition (2013) from Université Blaise Pascal-Clermont II, France, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from the University of Durham, UK (2018). He is currently pursuing an MSc in Blended and Online Education at Edinburgh Napier University.

Since 2015, Christopher has been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE), reflecting his commitment to excellence in teaching and learning in higher education.

Research, Scholarly projects and Academic Awards

Christopher is an active member of several academic networks, such as FLEUR (https://fleurnetwork.org/). He is currently leading the Special Interest Group dedicated to technologies used for a pedagogical purpose.
