Health Systems Strengthening Lead, King’s Global Health Partnerships

Biography

Claire’s professional background combines international development, global health and midwifery in the UK and across Africa. She completed a Master’s degree in International Development in 2008, and qualified as a midwife from King’s College London in 2015. Her current doctoral research examines the reciprocal benefits of the engagement of NHS health workers with international health partnerships. She has a particular interest in human resources for health and global mobilities of skilled health workers. In her role as Health Systems Strengthening Lead, Claire provides strategic, clinical and technical support for the work of King’s Global Health Partnerships with partners in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Somaliland, the Gambia, and Zambia. These partnerships enable the strengthening of health systems in Africa and the UK.
