Biography

Clare Mackie joined the National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience in October 2006 as Postdoctoral Researcher having previously worked at the Institute of Education, University College London. Clare received her PhD from the University of Warwick.  

Clare previously held an interdisciplinary postdoctoral research fellowship from the ESRC and MRC at the IOPPN to explore the relationship between adolescent substance use and mental health including the epidemiology of psychotic experiences. 

Clare has conducted research into the prevention of adolescent substance use, the development of prevention programs, their effectiveness and their implementation in schools. A second area of research is cannabis potency, and its effects on adolescent mental health.
