Biography

Dr Cliona Brennan is an Academic Education Pathway Lecturer in the Department of Nutritional Sciences.

She is a registered dietitian and researcher with extensive experience in the field of eating disorders.

She completed a BSc in Human Nutrition in Ireland in 2014, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics in London in 2016 and an MSc in Dietetics in 2018.

She completed her PhD in 2024 which focused on the management of physical and nutritional risk in adolescent anorexia nervosa. Alongside her doctoral studies, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Higher Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

At King’s College London, Cliona is a Lecturer on the MSc Dietetics programmes, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous clinical and academic roles. 

She continues to work clinically across NHS and private practice within adolescent eating disorders. She currently leads on the development and evaluation of a pilot outreach eating disorder team in her NHS role and practices as a specialist eating disorders dietitian across both NHS and private practice roles.

Her research interests centre on adolescent eating disorders, service evaluation and the integration of dietetic care within multidisciplinary teams.
