Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing

Biography

Dr Clive Tobutt is a dual-trained nurse (Adult and Mental Health) who has worked in the higher education arena in terms of research, teaching, and policy.

Their teaching, research, and policy fields have been problem psychoactive drug use both from a treatment perspective and in the workplace. This work was both at local regional, national, and international levels.

They are a Motivational Interviewing trainer and coder and are a member of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). In addition, in the field of mental health nursing, Dr Tobutt has expertise in managing a mental health crisis and recovery.

Teaching 

  • Module leadership: Nursing the person with acute and enduring disturbance to health II (MNurs)
  • Deputy module leader: Bioscience for nursing practice (MNurs)
  • Teaching on other modules: Engagement (BSc); Mental health nursing 2 (BSc); Substance Misuse (BSc) and The art and science of nursing practice (MNurs)

  • Mental Health and wellbeing in schools
