Biography

Cori Howard joined King's College London in October 2023 as a PhD candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Since a personal experience at the age of 17, Cori has dedicated her academic career to understanding and addressing the gaps of adolescent and emerging adult mental health. She holds both a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Communication from James Madison University.

Before returning for her PhD, Cori most recently worked on COVID-19 at the National Foundation for the Center of Disease Control and the opioid epidemic and Behavioral Health Corps at the Central Colorado Area Health Education Center.

In addition to her NGO projects, Cori has worked as an adjunct teaching communication courses at James Madison University, The University of South Carolina, Piedmont Technical College, and Metropolitan State University of Denver. She is now working on the UniSMaRT project, researching the sociocultural factors impacting mental health within the post-secondary education context.
