Biography

Darren Clarke is the Senior Education & Industry Partnerships Manager for the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences, King's College London.

In this role, he leads the development of employer engagement across the curriculum, embedding skills frameworks, live briefs, placements, and industry collaborations that prepare students for future careers. Darren works closely with academic departments, professional services, and external partners to create innovative opportunities that connect students with real-world challenges and professional pathways.

Darren has more than a decade of experience in higher education, employability, and student leadership. Prior to joining King’s, he held senior roles at Kingston University, where he led the award-winning Future Skills curriculum design, leading projects that developed industry-linked modules in engineering, computer science, and environmental sciences. His work has been recognised nationally through sector awards and has influenced education strategy.

Darren previously served on the National Executive Council of the National Union of Students, engaging student with education policy. He is working towards an MBA in Strategic Leadership and holds an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Darren is an active member of the Institute of Student Employers, AGCAS, and Advance HE, reflecting his commitment to professional development and sector-wide collaboration.
