Biography

David joined e-Research with extensive expertise in Linux systems administration and infrastructure design. His technical background encompasses configuration management, Python-based automation and cloud orchestration within Google Cloud Platform to support both specialised research and enterprise environments.

Prior to King’s, David worked in the finance sector managing cloud infrastructure and enterprise networking for two hedge funds. These previous roles provided experience with Cisco voice and networking solutions and distributed storage technologies such as GPFS.

With a core focus on automation and infrastructure-as-code, David leverages Python and Terraform/OpenTofu to develop bespoke tools and environments that accelerate deployment and enhance system resilience. By integrating these tools with modern configuration management practices, he ensures the delivery of consistent, maintainable and scalable environments for research computing.

David holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and completed postgraduate studies in Computer Science.
