Biography
Dr David Tang joined King’s College London in 2025 as part of Cogstack to enable clinical research via cross-site data linkage within the King’s Health Partners network.
He is a clinician and technologist who applies technology to make healthcare pathways better. As part of the national COVID-19 response, he was a member of the team that parsed testing and population data at scale and in real-time within the Real-time Assessment of Community Transmission Study that went on to guide policy during the national lockdown.
He was previously based at Imperial College London, where he taught and supported various modules across the MSc Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning, and Global Master of Public Health in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. He is a Fellow of AdvanceHE and holds a PgCert in University Level Teaching and a MSc in Health Data Analytics.
He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians UK and has a global view to health. Initially trained in Monash University, Melbourne, he then practiced clinically in Malaysia for eight years and contributed to various other regions including Tibet, Indonesia, Scotland and Singapore. His specialism is general nephrology and internal medicine.
Outside of work, he contributes to the London AI community via the British Computing Society, and is the founding member of AICamp London and TechBrews London. He also writes regularly about AI and machine learning on his blog.
