Biography

I pursued my undergraduate and Master degrees in Israel at the Technion and Tel-Aviv university, respectively. I obtained my Dr.rer. nat from Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) of Munich, Germany and carried out postdoctoral research at Stanford University, California, USA. I am currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine and was recently awarded a Sir Henry Dale fellowship (Wellcome Trust and Royal Society, UK). Research interests Stem cells have the ability to make more stem cells (self-renew) and also to give rise to differentiated cells. We are interested in the external and internal cues that regulate mammalian stem cell division and cell fate choice. We aim to study and compare these cues during homeostasis, tissue regeneration and tumorigenesis. We focus on Wnt signals as external cues that regulate stem cell division and cell fate choice. We study this using mouse embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells.
