EAP Tutor

Ed has a BA in Sociology, and since becoming a teacher he has gained the Cambridge DELTA teaching qualification and an MA in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching from King’s College London.

Ed has been teaching for over 20 years. He initially taught in Russia and South America, before moving to London where he spent 10 years teaching general English and a wide range of ESP courses. During this time he also worked as a teacher trainer on the Trinity Cert TESOL course and as an IELTS examiner. Prior to starting at King’s Ed worked at Brunel University, where he taught on pre-sessional and various in-sessional courses.

His professional interest is in the role of genre knowledge in academic writing, which was the basis of his MA dissertation. Ed’s hobbies are cooking (predominantly Asian food) and, when he has the time and money, rally driving.
