Biography
Induced pluripotent stem cells are a powerful tool for distinguishing the effects of genotype versus environmental factors on development. Dr Els Halff uses stem cells derived from schizophrenia patients and healthy controls to generate forebrain organoids and study the effect of stress exposure on early brain development. A particular focus is elucidating mechanisms of telomere length regulation in the brain.
