Biography

Elizabeth Yepez Gavilanes is a Senior Analyst (Immunoassay) in the Department of Analytical, Environmental & Forensic Sciences, School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences.

As part of the Drug Control Centre, Elizabeth specialises in immunoassays involving the analysis of Erythropoietin Stimulating Agents (ESAs), Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) hormone in biological matrices (i.e. urine/ blood) for anti-doping purposes. She also specialises in the Athlete Biological Profile (haematological module) analysis of whole blood. Other responsibilities involve training/ health and safety within the laboratory.

Elizabeth obtained an MSc in Analytical Toxicology in 2017 from King's, after having completed a BSc in Forensic Science with Toxicology from University of East London.
