Biography
Dr Ellen Lambert is a Clinical Psychologist and Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). Her research focuses on the unique mental health needs and psychological treatment of people with psychiatric symptoms related to reproductive cycle transitions, such as people with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Premenstrual Exacerbation (PME). Dr. Lambert works clinically at the Maudsley Hospital within the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) and the National Specialist Female Hormone Clinic (FHC).
Research interests
- Mental health across reproductive transitions
- Cognitive, emotional and behavioural processes that maintain psychological distress in people with premenstrual disorders
- Developing and evaluating psychological interventions to help people with premenstrual disorders to manage physical and psychological symptoms
