Biography
Emily Dowling is a PhD student in the Health Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, supervised by Dr Lauren Heathcote and Dr Joseph Chilcot. Her research focusses on exploring how mindsets about the body relate to physical and psychological functioning in chronic illness populations (cancer survivors, paediatric pain, patients with kidney disease), with a particular focus on pain and pain-related outcomes.
Alongside completing a PhD, Emily is completing the Stage 2 Health Psychology training to become a chartered Health Psychologist.
