Biography
Emily is a Research Assistant on the research programme Improving Communication with Adults with Learning Disabilities (ICALD) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London.
Emily completed a Masters in Mental Health Studies at King’s College London in 2025 and holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Liverpool. Whilst a student at King’s College London she worked as a research assistant on a research project assessing the effectiveness of a school-based early intervention that harnesses emotional mental imagery to reduce depression.
Emily also has experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in residential settings. Through this work she has developed a strong understanding of and interest in communication differences and the importance of inclusivity, accessibility and kindness in supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
