Enrico M. Buonaura is the Research Operations Manager in the Department of Engineering, Faculty of NMES, King’s College London. In his current role, he overviews all research activities in the Department.

Responsibilities:

1. 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: leading large, multimillion collaborative bids and proposals by providing grants advice to research staff. Remit: EU funding opportunities, UKRI & International multi-million calls, Postdoctoral Fellowships (early & mid-careers)
2. 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: supporting the Department with Account Reviews, Forecasting, Reporting, and Monitoring of research accounts
3. 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 for the Department’s Senior Research Operations Officer
4. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Circulation of Funding Opportunities, research-related stories & academic achievements via monthly Newsletter

 

Professional Background:

Enrico is a Grants Manager specialised in pre-award processes (bid development, grants writing & proposal budgeting) with 8 years of working experience in the research funding environment. His professional career includes collaborations with prestigious HE and R&D institutions in the Greater London area: the Francis Crick Institute, University College London (UCL), King's College London, and Imperial College London.

He has also worked with a wide range of funders: UKRI, The European Research Council, the European Commission, US Federal and private funding bodies, and national and international charities.
