
Biography
Evan D’Alessandro is a professional wargamer and PhD student studying the production and effects of immersion in professional wargaming. His research looks at the theory of immersion, how immersion occurs and what it does to the players of a wargame, and what implications that has for effective professional wargaming. His other research looks at modern combat and combat modeling and its interrelation to combat models in wargames, with a particular focus on ground combat. He has designed wargames for many groups including for NATO, the Defense Academy of the United Kingdom, and various academic groups at King’s College London.
Evan holds a BA in Environmental Studies from Luther College and a MA in Military History from King’s College London.
