Biography
Dr Fabio Azamor de Oliveira is the GC/C/IRMS (Gas Chromatography/Combustion/Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry) Lead Analyst for the Drug Control Centre, located in the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences. He joined in 2024.
The Drug Control Centre is the UK’s only World Anti-Doping Agency accredited laboratory.
He is the Lead Analyst for GC/C/IRMS, Senior Analyst for GC-MS/MS (Gas Chromatography-tandem Mass Spectrometry) and Certified Scientist at the Drug Control Centre.
Fabio begun in the anti-doping field in 2011, when he joined the Brazilian Doping Control Laboratory. He was responsible for the GC/C/IRMS analysis for the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games Rio 2016, and also attended the 2020 (Tokyo) and 2024 (Paris) Summer Olympic Games.
