Biography
Hailing from India, Faiza is an international student at King’s College London, currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). A certified Neuro-Linguistic Programmer, Faiza has a deep interest in advancing mental health and wellbeing for students of all ages. Her work is driven by a commitment to psychological research and policy development, with a focus on creating systems that prioritize student welfare. During the pandemic, she channeled her passion for helping others by writing self-help blogs and producing academic guidance content through tutoring, YouTube videos, and podcasts.
In her capacity as Volunteer Coordinator at King’s Volunteering, for over 2 years, where she manages the King’s Volunteering platform, connecting students, staff, and alumni with opportunities to make meaningful contributions to their communities. She provides a valuable student perspective to various projects and collaborates with both staff and students to promote volunteering across King’s. Faiza also leverages her skills in statistics and visual communication to analyze data, track the impact of volunteering efforts, and effectively share the platform’s success stories within and beyond King’s.
Additionally, Faiza has played a key role in the scoping and pilot of Service and Research Hub (2023 - 2025) - a collaborative initiative run by King's Volunteering and IoPPN. Faiza supported with the hub's execution, evaluation and future planning combining her insights into student life, academic skills and third sector understanding. The team together published their framework inspiring more to bridge the gap between the community and academia.
Previously Faiza also worked as the Belonging and Engagement Officer for BE At King’s, as a placement student in 2024/25, where she supported the management, evaluation, and impact analysis of various projects aimed at fostering a sense of belonging among students. This involved performing administrative and project management tasks while conducting research to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions on student wellbeing. Through this role, she actively worked on initiatives that aim to enhance the student experience and align with her broader goal of improving mental health outcomes through systemic educational reforms. Furthermore, along with her team, Faiza shared the project's findings at 3 national conferences furthering the sector-wide conversation on student wellbeing and engagement.
Faiza’s current and past toles allow her to combine her academic knowledge with practical skills in project management, research, and community engagement. Looking ahead, she aspires to use her experiences at King’s, and advance psychological and sociocultural research to build evidence-informed educations policies that integrate social and emotional wellbeing into the very fabric of student life.
