Biography
Dr Frances Thomas joined the Department of Engineering within the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences at King’s College London as a Research Associate in March 2025. Her research focuses on using molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the self-assembly mechanisms of spider silk proteins.
Frances graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London in 2018. Following her degree, she spent a year at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, where she worked on high-throughput cancer drug screening. She then completed a PhD in Computational Biology at Birkbeck, University of London, focusing on the identification and characterisation of drug compounds targeting voltage-gated sodium channels.
