She works closely with personal tutors and faculty tutors, as well as the central student support services, in particular the Wellbeing Advisers, to coordinate communication.

Acting as the Faculty Disability Liaison and Faculty Safeguarding Officer, providing information and support to students and colleagues Gemma acts as a point of escalation for tutors and tutees.

Gemma, a registered BACP member, uses psychodynamic training to understand student needs. Her experience in support services includes working with homelessness, an eating disorder charity, and supported housing. In further and higher education, Gemma continues to pursue her passion for supporting young people who are estranged or have a background in care, through widening participation.
