Biography

Project Title: The internationalisation of law firms from emerging economies

Gina Aprilitasari is a PhD Student in Strategy, International Management & Entrepreneurship at King's Business School. Her primary research interests are the organization and management of global professional service firms, and their role in cross-border economic activities.

For her PhD thesis, Gina is studying the internationalisation of law firms from emerging economies. Specifically, she is interested in understanding the process, motives, and challenges in the international expansion of emerging economy law firms.

Gina has extensive experience in the legal industry before joining PhD program at King's Business School. She worked as a document review lawyer in the United Kingdom from August 2021 to September 2022. She worked as a paralegal in the United States from 2016 to 2020.

As a paralegal, Gina worked on cases related to company’s data protection compliances and reorganization. she is also a qualified attorney in Indonesia with five years of experience in foreign direct investment, cross-border merger and acquisition, corporate restructuring, and general corporate matters. She received an LLM (Master of Laws) from the University of Minnesota, the USA and an MSc in Business Analysis and Strategic Management from the University of Manchester.
