Biography

Gioula Kountaki graduated from the Hellenic Republic University of Athens with a B.A. in Greek literature and Philosophy in 1998. She then went on to study for an M.A. in Culture, Language and Identity at Goldsmiths College, University of London (2001) and for an MEd in Specific Learning Difficulties at Bangor University of Wales (2005). In 2011, she completed the Diploma in Translation (DIPTRANS) Chartered Institute of Linguistics. She has 22 years of experience teaching Modern Greek and joined King’s College London in 2017. Gioula loves reading Greek philosophy and classics (Plato, Aristotle) but she is also a great fan of contemporary Greek Authors (N. Kazantzakis, M. Koumantareas, Y. Xanthoulis).
