Haruka Goto joined the Bridging Divides project at King's College London as a Research Assistant in January 2024, where her work includes co-producing research with young people and evaluating the impact of the UK's under-16 social media ban on adolescent mental health.

Her research interests span adolescent mental health, gender inequality, and the relationship between social and economic policy and population mental health outcomes. Before joining King's, she worked at Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, in the Suicide Prevention Policy Division.

Haruka holds a BSc in Business Management from King's College London (2019) and an MSc in Global Mental Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and King's College London (2023). She is currently a final-year PhD candidate at UCL's Global Business School for Health, where her doctoral research explores how Japanese fiscal and labour policy relates to population mental health outcome.
