Biography

In 2012, Hassan obtained his Bachelor Degree in Dental and Oral Surgery from King Abdulaziz University, Faculty of Dentistry, Saudi Arabia. In 2013, he worked at King Abdulaziz Medical City Hospital and Researches Center, Saudi Arabia, as a general dental practitioner where Hassan found his interest in dentistry of medically compromised patients under general anaesthesia and local anaesthesia. Then in 2014, he joined Umm Al-Qura University, Department of Basic and Clinical Oral Sciences as an academic staff. In 2017, Hassan moved to London where he trained in the Department of Sedation and Special Care Dentistry at Guy’s Hospital and obtained his Master of Science in Sedation and Special Care Dentistry; during which he found his interest in dental oncology. During his clinical training, Hassan published some researches regarding oral and dental management of people with multiple myeloma, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukaemia. Currently, he is obtaining a Clinical PhD in Special Care Dentistry. His research interests focussed on investigating the impact of replacement the missing teeth with dentures on the occurrence of osteoradionecrosis, oral function and quality of life in head and neck cancer patients post-radiotherapy. Hassan also is treating complex special care patients under different types of conscious sedation techniques include local anaesthesia and conscious sedation and assists with teaching and clinical supervision.
