Professor Heather Cubie MBE; PhD, FRCPath, FRSE

Heather was a Consultant Clinical Scientist in Virology, Director of R&D in NHS Lothian and Founder Director of the Scottish National HPV Reference Laboratory. She has an Honorary Chair in the University of Edinburgh and is currently a Senior Advisor to the Global Health Academy. Her expertise has been in the development of molecular tests for Human papilloma virus (HPV) and its role in cervical cancer. In retirement, she has been actively involved in a sustainable cervical cancer reduction programme in Malawi and is passionate about the development of mutually beneficial partnerships. She has been a Trustee of the Scotland Malawi Partnership since 2015 and Chair from 2019.
