Biography
Harry Hatwell is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law, where he teaches Trusts. This is in addition to his primary role training as a pupil barrister at Gough Square Chambers, a specialist consumer law / regulatory set of chambers in the City of London. Harry also teaches Torts at Queen Mary, University of London, where he has previously taught Contract Law.
Harry is a graduate of St John's College, University of Oxford, where he read for the BA in Jurisprudence (Law with French Law), graduating fifth in his year. He trained as a solicitor at a leading international law firm in London before returning to Oxford to study for the BCL, in which he obtained a distinction, received the Law Faculty Prize in Modern Legal History, and was the recipient of the One Essex Court Chambers Scholarship.
From Oxford, Harry went to Yale Law School to read for the LLM, during which he received numerous grants to conduct fieldwork, attend conferences, and present his original research. At Yale, Harry served on four law journals, worked as a research assistant to two professors (working on the American Law Institute's Restatement (Third) of Torts: Defamation and Privacy), and convened a for-credit reading group.
Harry enjoys yoga and going to the theatre; he even treaded the boards himself in 'Grease' during the BCL...!
