Hongzhe joined the department of Psychological Medicine in 2023 as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Roland Zahn and Dr. Diede Fennema. Her research focuses on the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying impulsive or risky decision-making in psychopathology. In particular, how reduced implicit access to knowledge of long-term negative consequences influences impulsive choices. Her research interests lie at the intersection of cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and clinical mental health research.

Before joining King’s College London, Hongzhe completed her Bachelor’s degree from University of California- Los Angeles with a major in neuroscience and minor in cognitive science and a MSc with Distinction in psychological sciences from University College London.
